Mixed Media Cards

So after playing some more with my Gelli Plate and printing a bunch of background papers I decided to make several cards. If you have never used a Gelli Plate it is addicting.  I have so many background papers, tags etc made that are all so unique and beautiful in their own way.  I need to make more cards using them but here are my 1st three.

Art Journal page

Played a little today on an art journal page idea I saw on Pinterest.  Not sure how I feel yet about this page.  I was brave and decided to work right on the page in the journal and not on a separate sheet of paper that I could throw.  And I cannot tear out the page and throw it away as there is a page I do like on the backside.  Oh well, I could always cover the entire page with gesso and star over :)

My new toy

I decided to go ahead and get a brand new 10 needle Brother embroidery machine.  I did some of the towels I make in half the time AND no thread changes and staying close to the machine.  I also noticed much less threads to clip at the end and the embroidery is excellent quality.  So much to learn on the new toy.

Autumn cards from Simon Says Stamps

I made a few cards from this month's Simon Says Stamp card kit and still have lots left over.  Love the little acorn stickers from Little B.  I got an extra package from Amazon.

Bendi Card

I am trying to learn how to use my Scan N Cut better and made this card- is called a Bendi card.  Isn't it cool :)

Autumn Table runner

I have been working on a project for my table using fall quilt blocks from Anita Goodesign.  Here is the table runner I made using remnant fabric.  I sure do love my Brother Dreamweaver embroidery machine.

Simon Says Stamps cards

I played today with the September Simon Says Stamp card kit.  There are scratch off circles to use on a card - stamp the sentiment and cover with the scratch off circle.  Cute idea.  I got a bit carried away with the liquid nuvo drops they included in the kit in Silver and Caribbean Ocean.  I may re-create a couple of these cards with different paper.  The 2 shaker cards were simple with a frame from My Favorite Things.  Sorry about the reflection on the one shaker card - the inside of the shaker is a black with small polka dots and the Happy Birthday embossed in white.  One of these days I will get better at photographing my cards :)
