Fabric covered Journal CC3C challenge #11

The challenge for this next 2 weeks for the CC3C - Compendium of Curiosities #3 Challenge 11  is Effect Powders from Tim Holtz.  I needed a journal for an upcoming project and decided to cover this journal with Tim's fabric and added the burlap trim to cover up the raw edge.  I die cut from grungepaper the mannequin from the sewing room die and used Old Paper distress powder then used some Tea Dye and Fired Brick distress inks.  The metal flower embellishment fit perfectly at the waistline of the mannequin.  The generous sponsor for this challenge ( $50 gift certificate)  is Inspiration Emporium - why not check them out right now?   I am so pleased with how my journal turned out and can't wait to show it off.

CC3C #8 Fades Layers - Spotted Tag

I needed a quick gift tag so used the current challenge CC3C - #8 on page 58 of Tim Holtz's book "A Compendium of Curisioties #3".  The challenge was to make something using the Faded Layers technique.  My time is limited this week so made a very quick and easy gift tag.  The sponsor for this week is Funkie Junkie .

CC3 Challenge #3 Faux Tea Roses

This is the card I made for the 3rd challenge in the CC3 Challenge based on Tim Holtz's 3rd book - A Compendium of Curiosities  This is the faux Tea Rose technique - making roses from the Tattered Pinecone die.  I had a bright tag in my stash that I had made a while back so used it for the background.  The sentiment is from My Favorite Things Chalkboard Greetings Too stamp set.  Such a bright card.  I added a little glitter to the roses.  This 3rd challenge is sponsored by Inspiration Emporium who is giving a $50 gift certificate to their online store for a random winner in this 3rd challenge,  Hope I win :)

Distress Glitter Christmas Tag - CC3C challenge #2

I know it is only May and was 89 degrees here in Florida today but I had to make a Christmas tag just so I could use the Holiday Lamppost for this 2nd challenge.  Our assignment for this go around for the CC3C challenge was to follow Tim Holtz's distress glittering technique on a project.  I love to make big tags so decided it is never too early to get started on my Christmas tags,  This weeks sponsor for a gift certificate is "The Funkie Junkie Boutique".  Be sure to head over to their blog and do some shopping.   I used tissue wrap on the base of the tag, stamped and smudged some snowflakes from Stamper's Anonymous mini holidays on background.  The lamppost is die cut from grunge paper then painted with distress paint then covered with distress glitter.  Thanks for stopping by.

CC3C Challenge #1 Paint Marbling

I have decided to add another challenge to my crafting goals for 2014.  This new challenge CC3C is A Compendium of Curiosities - Vol 3.  We are going to work our way through Tim Holtz's newest book called "A Compendium of Curiosities -Vol 3. hence the name of the challenge.    This week's sponsor is IE Inspiration Emporium - a great on line store that I have purchased Tim Holtz products from in the past.  They have GREAT customer service.  I decided to make a large tag for this challenge and used Distress Paint - Salty Ocean, Pickett Fence Seedless Preserves and Mustard Seed.  The rolled flowers are from MFT.  I for some reason thought I had Tim's Distressed flowers die but guess I don't.  Will have to see about getting it.
Hope you like my tag.
