Bonjour

I made this super simple card for 2 challenges today over at SCS.  The first challenge TLC514 challenged us to make a standard size card with 1 ink color, 1 large bold stamp and a sentiment and 1 ribbon of same color tied along the edge.   I also submitted the card in the CAS305 challenge to welcome the New Year.  I really like the look of cherry cobbler ink on crumbcake cardstock.

Pinkeep January 2015

I have joined a monthly Pinkeep Kit Club where I will receive the supplies to make a Pinkeep - just another name for a pincushion.  The club is from Primitive Gatherings - a quilt shop in Wisconsin that I would love to visit some day.  Here is the 1st pinkeep I made for January.  I added the machine stitching at the bottom.  They used a button that had a "J" on it and a black bow but I like the machine embroidery better.  I filled it with crushed walnut shells- they are supposed to keep your needles sharp.  This is a great way to display my hat pins.

Craft room redo file holders

My dear friend Lynn gave me these 2 metal file holder wall units.   All they needed was a little soap and water and a new coat of glossy paint and VOILA!   Ken painted them for me and we hung them in the little odd corner of my craft room that is too small and odd shaped to put any furniture.  They hold extra packages of paper of which I have an abundance.  I also found out that a small suction cups sticks well to the metal so I can hang a few cute baskets/boxes from the Dollar section of Target for additional storage.

Another Christmas Card - MFTWSC197

It is time for the weekly sketch again over at My Favorite Things.  Felt a bit awkward having the designer paper at an odd angle but tried to follow the sketch.  Have a great week.  I will be posting another post shortly of a redo hanging files for my craft room so be sure to check it out.

Fabric covered Journal CC3C challenge #11

The challenge for this next 2 weeks for the CC3C - Compendium of Curiosities #3 Challenge 11  is Effect Powders from Tim Holtz.  I needed a journal for an upcoming project and decided to cover this journal with Tim's fabric and added the burlap trim to cover up the raw edge.  I die cut from grungepaper the mannequin from the sewing room die and used Old Paper distress powder then used some Tea Dye and Fired Brick distress inks.  The metal flower embellishment fit perfectly at the waistline of the mannequin.  The generous sponsor for this challenge ( $50 gift certificate)  is Inspiration Emporium - why not check them out right now?   I am so pleased with how my journal turned out and can't wait to show it off.
