CC3 Challenge #3 Faux Tea Roses

This is the card I made for the 3rd challenge in the CC3 Challenge based on Tim Holtz's 3rd book - A Compendium of Curiosities  This is the faux Tea Rose technique - making roses from the Tattered Pinecone die.  I had a bright tag in my stash that I had made a while back so used it for the background.  The sentiment is from My Favorite Things Chalkboard Greetings Too stamp set.  Such a bright card.  I added a little glitter to the roses.  This 3rd challenge is sponsored by Inspiration Emporium who is giving a $50 gift certificate to their online store for a random winner in this 3rd challenge,  Hope I win :)

Playing with watercolor

I have been watching some of the videos from the On Line Card Class - Watercoloring and created these 2 cards - super simple.  A great way to use some of the stamps I rarely use.

Triplet Sailor Girls & MFTWSC176

I had some denim like paper and lots of gold buttons to use up so made these cards.  Simple coloring just the way I like it.  I have plenty of paper to make more so I can get my card box restocked.  I turned the design a little bit and made the 1st card for this week's sketch from MFT.  I love this little sailor girl :)

Distress Glitter Christmas Tag - CC3C challenge #2

I know it is only May and was 89 degrees here in Florida today but I had to make a Christmas tag just so I could use the Holiday Lamppost for this 2nd challenge.  Our assignment for this go around for the CC3C challenge was to follow Tim Holtz's distress glittering technique on a project.  I love to make big tags so decided it is never too early to get started on my Christmas tags,  This weeks sponsor for a gift certificate is "The Funkie Junkie Boutique".  Be sure to head over to their blog and do some shopping.   I used tissue wrap on the base of the tag, stamped and smudged some snowflakes from Stamper's Anonymous mini holidays on background.  The lamppost is die cut from grunge paper then painted with distress paint then covered with distress glitter.  Thanks for stopping by.

MFTWSC 175

This is my 2nd post for this AM.  I am on a roll. Here is my card for this week's My Favorite Things weekly sketch. I sure wish I could color better.   Have a great week.

On Line Watercolor Card Class

I am following along with the On Line Card Watercolor class - I have done about every class they have offered since the beginning.  Here is the first card I made - super simple.  Once I have my Koi watercolor ink down and wet on watercolor paper I pressed a Tim Holtz stencil onto the paper - weighted it down for about 1 minute then VOILA!.  Added the strip of vellum embossed with Happy Birthday, button and twine and it's all done.  I think it came out
pretty nice.  I plan on doing this technique again - very easy
